Hyderabad is a city that is so deeply entwined with its history that it is impossible to separate it from the past. It is a synthesis of various cultures, beliefs, and practices. Every monument has a wealth of history to share, but Charminar holds an extremely rich history. The 400-year-old monument has seen the city change, and evolve and is one of the most important witnesses to its rich past since 1591. <\/span><\/p>\n Charminar is the most prominent landmark in Hyderabad, located right in the heart of the city. The monument, which was erected by Quli Qutub Shah to commemorate the founding of Hyderabad, has long been a favorite feature of the city.<\/span><\/p>\n 2<\/span>Golconda Fort<\/p>\n One of the most famous fort complexes in India, the history of the Golconda Fort goes back to the 13th century. Golconda continues to be proud of its mounted cannons, four drawbridges, eight entrances, opulent halls, magazines, and stables, among other things. <\/span><\/p>\n After Aurangzeb’s army successfully marched through this gate, the outermost enclosure was given the name Fateh Darwaza, which means Victory gate. Fantastic acoustic effects can be seen at Fateh Darwaza, one of the numerous well-known engineering wonders at Golconda. <\/span><\/p>\n The hilltop pavilion, located about one kilometre away, may clearly be heard when you clap your hands at a specific location close to the dome entrance. This served as a notice of oncoming peril to the fort’s occupants; naturally, it now amuses visitors.<\/span><\/p>\n 3<\/span>Laad Bazaar<\/p>\n \u201cWhat do you sell, O ye merchants?<\/span><\/p>\n Richly your wares are displayed.<\/span><\/p>\n Turbans of crimson and silver,<\/span><\/p>\n Tunics of purple brocade,<\/span><\/p>\n Mirrors with panels of amber,<\/span><\/p>\n Daggers with handles of jade.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n In her poem, \u201cIn the Bazaars of Hyderabad\u201d, Sarojini Naidu rightly describes the ever-buzzing Laad bazaar. With the famous bangles and pearls in every nook and corner of the place, this can be your go-to place for traditional street shopping.<\/span><\/p>\n Laad, which means lacquer, is used to make bangles with artificial diamonds set in them, no wonder Laad Bazaar is famous for bangles shopping. This hub in Hyderabad is more aesthetically pleasing than the pictures, and one has to be here if they need to make their tour to Hyderabad perfect! <\/span><\/p>\n 4<\/span>Qutub Shahi Tombs<\/p>\n The beautiful monuments built in honour of the late Golconda kings that have defied the ravages of time and nature is the Qutub Shahi Tombs. Banjara Darwaza is where it is situated, just one kilometre away from Golconda Fort.<\/span><\/p>\n Their are imposing works of exquisite architecture that serve as reminders of the majesty of the Golconda rulers, who are buried nearby. These tombs, built by the Qutub Shahis, are among the oldest historical structures in Hyderabad. <\/span><\/p>\n 5<\/span>Mecca Masjid<\/p>\n One of Hyderabad’s oldest structures is the Mecca Masjid. Sultan Muhammad, the sixth Qutb Shahi king, began to construct it in 1617, and it was finished completely build 76 years later, in 1693, when Hyderabad was ruled by the Mughals under Aurangzeb.<\/span><\/p>\n The Mecca Masjid served as the dominant mosque for the Nizams as they ruled Hyderabad. The Charminar is visible from the Masjid and is a beautiful sight especially during Ramzan. <\/span><\/p>\n 6<\/span>Taj Falaknuma Palace<\/p>\n A gem in the clouds, the Taj Falaknuma Palace is perched 2,000 feet above Hyderabad. It was the previous residence of the Nizam, who was once thought to be the richest man on earth and whose palace was built in 1894.<\/span><\/p>\n This charming palace hotel in Hyderabad overlooks the sparkling City of Pearls and oozes romance and grandeur that transports one back to the time of the Nizam. <\/span><\/p>\n From the moment you arrive in a horse-drawn carriage at Taj Falaknuma Palace, the palace butlers treat you like royalty. Ascend the Grand Staircase and follow in the footsteps of the Nizams, European aristocracy, alluring Begums, and illustrious Heads of State. <\/span><\/p>\n 7<\/span>Salarjung Museum<\/p>\n Salar Jung Museum stands out in this city of Charminar and Golconda Fort, pearls and palaces, as it is home to the largest one-man collection of antiquities and works of art in the entire world.
