When it comes to Hyderabad, there is nothing we don’t adore! From travel to the culinary space, there is a lot to do in one city that is better than the other. This time, we thought, why not take a Things2do virtual tour of Hyderabad’s most creative community spaces?
So you know that when you are in Hyderabad, what to add to your bucket list and unique things to try in Hyderabad.
1Aaromale
Cafe and Creative Community in Hyderabad – Aaromale, is a term from the Malayalam language that roughly translates to “O beloved.” The area’s abundance of greenery has a relaxing impact on visitors, and the Aaromale emblem features images of the five elements of nature. More than 100 people can attend concerts and workshops that are held in the roomy lawn area known as Arena. Coffee, tea, sandwiches, and other quick meals are always available thanks to an on-site café.
Aaromale covers 1100 square yards, and the U-shaped structure initially looks like a mansion in Kerala. The elaborate Rayalaseema style of architecture, reminiscent of the area’s bungalows, is immediately seen as soon as one enters the spacious first-floor hallway. The carved woodwork and terracotta roofs of the stone and red brick building add to its old-world appeal. While exploring the Community spaces in Hyderabad, Aaromale needs to be on the list.

2Lamakaan
The open cultural centre, City dwellers have come to love Lamakaan and frequent it for performances, art exhibits, movie screenings, and of course for the world-famous samosas and nimbu paani. The community that Lamakaan unites and nurtures is what gives the establishment its heart and soul, in addition to the welcoming atmosphere and delectable appetisers and nibbles.
Lamakaan was built in 1972 as a residence by the late M Hassan, a local art aficionado. After Hassan passed away in 2010, his nephew Ashhar Farhan and his wife Humera transformed it into the famous cultural hub that it is today with the help of friends like activist Biju Mathew and film producer and actor Elahe Hiptoola.
The evenings at Lamakaan are lively with crowds of people waiting for future shows, chatting, and assisting with set-ups. Evenings are reserved for performances, talks, spontaneous poetry readings, stand-up comedy, movie screenings, and interactive events. Grab your cup of chai when the kitchen closes a few minutes before a function to ensure there will be no disruption.
